About the project
CORE Consulting Engineers Plc. (CORE) has successfully completed a comprehensive range of services for the Afdera – Irebti Junction – Ertale – Ahmadela Road Project, spanning 115 kilometers. This significant infrastructure initiative aims to enhance connectivity and stimulate economic development in the region. The project was meticulously planned and executed, incorporating several key phases to ensure its sustainability and feasibility.
Initially, CORE conducted rigorous Feasibility and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) studies. These assessments were crucial in evaluating the project’s potential impacts on the local environment and communities. By identifying and mitigating environmental and social risks, CORE ensured that the project would proceed in a responsible and sustainable manner. The EIA studies provided a robust foundation for decision-making, highlighting areas where mitigation strategies were necessary to protect local ecosystems and communities.
In addition to environmental considerations, CORE undertook an in-depth Assessment of Financing Options. This phase involved exploring various funding mechanisms to secure the financial viability of the project. By evaluating different financing strategies, CORE was able to propose the most suitable and sustainable financial plan, ensuring that the project would be economically feasible and attract potential investors.
The preparation of a Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) was another critical component of CORE’s project accomplishment. The RAP was designed to address the needs of communities affected by the road construction, ensuring that displaced individuals were provided with adequate compensation and support. This plan was developed through extensive stakeholder consultations, ensuring that the voices of affected communities were heard and their needs addressed.
